Summer Lovin

Alright, I've prepared about 3 posts and can't get them to work, the movie won't upload, pictures won't upload, etc. So I am going to get you caught up, I hope I can add some picts, I don't know squat about what's wrong with the movie, but it is darn cute, I'll try later.

So what have we been doing the summer???
1. going to the zoo
We went with KAS friends and today with our church. Hilary and I both have passes and we have been trying to get over there, but it's rained every day we tried.

Kaya and her future husband Aiden

Read the sign. Doesn't she look angry about it. LOL

2. going to Mrs. Pam's
Kaya's still been going to the babysitter while Momma is working at the golf course. I am working three/four days a week. I wanted to keep Kaya in her normal routine, as normal as I could, so she still is going to the best babysitters. She has about four younger children that are there all the time, Kaya loves it. Well not always at first, but she plays well with the others. Mackenzie always gives her a kiss before we leave. The sweetest thing is when I come a little late to pick her up and she and Mr. Bob are curled up in the chair taking a nap. It's so sweet.

3. going to Beaver Dam
Although we have gone a couple of times we have another trip planned for this weekend. I am so lucky that my mom and dad love Kaya so much and are so supportive of us. Mom has gotten a crib for her. She doesn't sleep the best away from home, so we are trying to make it just like home. Last time we were there Kaya slept with my mom and dad when she woke up.

4. swimming
We have been to a couple of places to swim: Mom and Dad's, Clarksville pool, and Bobby and Robin's house. Kaya is getting a little better, she will splash now and let go of me a little. The first time I think the water was just to cold for her and she clung to me like a leech. I think we are getting over that a little bit. I am hoping over winter we can do some swim lessons. She already will dip her face in the water. I think she is drinking, but I still encourage anything where she put her head in.

5. going to parades
We have gone to the Strawberry festival parade and then to the Charlestown Bicentennial parade. It was an awesome parade with the governor, tractors, 4-Hers, and so much more. We actually left after two hours of floats and it wasn't over. We went with Tricia, Daniel and the girls.

Casey and Kaya in matching stars and stripes outfits. Aren't they so cute!

6. playing
Boy does this girl love to play! She plays so well by herself. She also loves to play with other people. She does well except when others take away her toys. She also is a little ruff. hehe She likes to give love by patting, but doesn't realize she's doing it too hard, Darbee doesn't complain too much, but runs away. She's also turning into the gymnast. She flips out of her Dora cozy coupe and out of her walker. She is also trying to do flips. I flip her, but she puts her head down and try to do it herself, but she hasn't done it yet.

The escape. I took pictures instead of helping her amazed at ability not to hurt herself.

7. reading books
Kaya loves books, she reads, looks at pictures, and chews on her books. She loves all books. Her favorites right now include Llama, Llama, Red Pajama (Thanks Sarah Beth), Prayer books, Dora Books (thanks Tricia and Bailey), Books with animals. She can sit and look at books for 20 minutes at a time.

8. watching cartoons
If you know me you know I am a tv watcher. Well my daughter is also. When we were on our pick up trip it was cartoons in Spanish. It took awhile for me to find something she would watch at home. Well we have found it DORA. When she hears the theme song she starts running wherever she is. She dances during it and says DOR. It's so cute. She also likes The Backyardagins. They do adventures. It's a cute show. In the mornings she watches Higgleytown Heros, The Wiggles, or Bunnytown while I am getting ready. She eats breakfast and watches a show. I think she likes the cartoons better than real live people, which was different than Kip and Karis. I think she didn't like them at first because she didn't understand.

9. Snuggling
Kaya and I have started some time ins. Not necessarily because she is being bad, but because she needs some time to decompress. We are having these in my bed. We read and snuggle until she gets off the bed. We both really enjoy this time.

10. Growing up
Kaya is growing up and doing new things all the time. She has started to be able to follow directions. She is walking trying to run. Her personality is really starting to come through. She loves getting into mischief and knows when she is. I'll catch her doing something and she'll take off running and laughing. She has now gotten to where she'll give me whatever she knows she's not supposed to have. She loves to hand it over and doesn't cry like she used to. She is understanding no, but still gets upset when I correct her. She's eating solid foods now and feeding herself (Darbee's favorite part about Kaya). She's a girl who knows what she wants. She'll let you know if she doesn't like something. She's started shaking her head no. She'll give you the sweetest kisses, but on her terms. If she's not ready she won't give you a kiss.

I'm so lucky to have this little girl in my life. I say it all the time and I mean it. Praise be to God!

Jill, she's beautiful as ever, and it sounds like she's growing up so much already! I love reading about all she is doing! Give her kisses for me (&Aiden)! Brenda

What a wonderful life!
