Sleeping Single in a Double Bed!

I just wanted everyone to see how Kaya sleeps in my bed. I was up one morning at 1:30 taking these pictures. I just couldn't sleep, wonder why. She's never been the best sleeper, but she has been in her own bed most of the nights this week (We will see what tonight holds b/c she does have an ear infection.

Welcome to the Jungle!!!!!

HeHe Kaya got a new Jungle Gym yesterday! She got it from Aunt Nessa and her family. I am not sure which one of Chuck's sister's had it, but I do want to say Kaya loves it!!!!! My mom is here taking care of Kaya because Mrs. Pam is on vacation for the next two weeks.

Ninny is here and helped me clean up the Gym, Kaya couldn't wait!



This weekend we got to see our friend and faithful blog reader Martha Frakes. She was visiting her new granddaughter Riley. I was so excited that she is getting to meet Kaya. Kaya was good, but got tired toward the end of the night. We also got to see Meredith and Curtis.

Here they are! Ebony and Ivory, Butterscotch and Cream! LOL! Kaya and Casey in the pool.

Kaya swimming, really good for a girl who was squeezing my neck off the first time she got in the big pool. She will also put her face down in the water. She does like to drink the water though.

Things that make you go HUMMMM.. Why does Casey know how to work the vacuum and Kaya doesn't. HUMMMMM wonder if I am not cleaning enough! HUMMMMM

Calling all cars, Calling all cars, Mommy come and get me!!! Casey looked out the door at different times, she didn't cry, but I thought it was funny she was calling Mommy! Wonder if Tricia and I are on the phone too much HUMMMMMMM

In Kaya's room playing in her bed. I tried to get them to lay down, but that was a no go!


The girls were dressed in diapers b/c I was being lazy. Bailey asked why they were naked, I saw no problem, but she did LOL, it was almost time for the pj's anyway.

Ebony and Ivory, well more like Butterscotch and Cream

Today we had a great day! First getting ready for church and then after Kaya took a good nap. We also had a play date with Casey. I took lots of pictures.

When we were getting ready for church I said to Kaya lets go. She picked up a shopping bag and started getting her bag ready. She put a bottle of water and a book in it. I being the good momma that I am had my camera in her bag so I pulled it out.


I thought I'll just take care of this and I got her a little purse out of my bedroom. I had to laugh when she just plopped it in her shopping bag ready to go.

Well that bag went into the car and then not into church I said I was a good momma not a saint LOL.

Now to explain the title of this post, Casey and Kaya are polar opposites on the color of thier skin. Casey is fair with ice blue eyes, Kaya dark (getting darker all the time LOL) with dark brown eyes. It's so funny I was putting sunscreen on the little fair one and Kaya had to have some too. I do put sunscreen on her when we are going to be out for a while, but not for 10 minutes. Poor Casey turns red just walking outside. We played in the pool, played with the car, played chase, and of course ate. Tricia was at church but she and Bailey came a little later. I'm working on adding pictures, but my head hurts and I'm worn out. LOL Check back tomorrow for play date photos.

This one goes out for Patti. She left today for the Northern Regions to study the whales. Please think of her since she is going to be gone for so long. I hope that you made it Patti, We miss you already!

Happy 4th peeps! I hope you all have a blast! I know Kaya and I will, being that it is our first 4th together. I'll post when I get home, hopefully with pictures.

Coming soon! I'm gonna be published. I don't know the details yet, but I got an email today from babies in Kentuckiana. I shared my story with them about being a single adoptive mom. (I got the website from the Latin Family Group) they said they would send it to the editor to be published. WHAT?!? I don't even know if it is a magizine or book. I know they have a website and I'm sure it will be on there, I'll link you up! Not my first publiciation, but pretty cool.

Also coming soon Vote for Kaya in Photowow contest. I'll let my peeps know. As soon as I get the pictures from Kaya's first birthday shoot I'm going to enter into a contest to win some pop art of her. It's so cool. I can't wait. You know that's right up my alley!
