It's not easy being Green!
Oh wait we are not green we are ORANGE! We have confirmation of the 2nd DNA test being done, not only has it been charge to my cc, but we talked to the foster mother today and she said that the test had been done.
She also said some interesting things about my girl
*she weighs 23 lbs. (humm I need to be lifting weights)
*she likes to play with balls and telephones (like mother like daughter)
*she like to eat (who coulda guessed that one)
*she is spoiled (well duh!)
*she has two bottom teeth (guess I will be packing that tooth brush)
*she is pulling up and crawling (watch out Darbee)
*she is going to get her ears pierced (I asked if she had and she offered to as a gift to Kaya, I was glad so I didn't have to make her cry)
The foster mother also said to be prepared b/c she gets very emotional at the drop off, I am a little worried, but I hope it does not upset the baby! It's so hard on the fm b/c there are no more babies to come, this will be the last one she has, b/c of the new laws that are being in acted in Guatemala. I know she has loved Kaya so much for the past 8 months, and I am so thankful for her! She was very talkative, and I didn't understand a word LOL it was all in Spanish, I did get a few Si's and No's but that is all!
I'll let you all know when I get the all important PINK to go and get Kaya Arnold!

Don't Worry Be Happy

I was worried, but now I'm so happy!
Well, this is huge news
Kaya is now an Arnold. OMG, yes that is what I said Kaya is an Arnold.
Her birth certificate now reads Karla Yojana Arnold. The Aleah will come a little later, but she will be known as Kaya Arnold.
She also has her new passport and we have been submitted to the USE for her 2nd DNA test. This is what is known as being Orange. I don't know when this test will happen, but I will be charged on my cc for it, and it will be sent tomorrow morning. I am in shock right now b/c as of last Thursday we were told by the lawyer that the birth mother had not signed off. Without the last of four signatures that she would not have been submitted for her new bc, without bc no passport, without passport no DNA. So you see we have all of this done or we couldn't be at this point. (Just an explanation). Mandy from KAS was just as shocked as I was, I thought we would be waiting for the Guatemala City bc right now, not at the USE.
Kip is so excited, I have to tell you what he said. He told my mom that he knew what DNA was, it was the stuff inside you who made you who you were. I called during the middle of this conversation. He then said Aunt Bug what if she isn't the right baby. I explained that she had been with the same foster mother she was the one taking her for the test, so i was not really worried about it. He then said well I know how they could make sure it was her just take the cutest baby in Guatemala and it would be the right one. I started crying of course! My mom was crying also and we both were telling him what a sweet boy he is. He also cannot wait to take Kaya to school and show her off, they have been praying for her. I am going to make that happen. Kip then said it was AWESOME! High praise from an 8 year old.
I'll be sure and post when we get conformation and turn PINK! The next step in our Journey to Kaya.
On a snow day!

Play it again Sam!
Well, lets see what is going on with Kaya, nothing. We are out of PGN and waiting on final protocol. That is saying the bm is signing off for the fourth and final time. Then we will be submitted to the Civil Registry in Guatemala City which is where we will get the new birth certificate. After that is done, we will get a new passport. Then be submitted to the US Embassy for a 2nd DNA test (Commonly called being Orange). Then after that is submitted we will submitted for our appointment at the USE (when issued it is called PINK). That means we will travel and get to meet Kaya. Mom and Dad are going with me on the trip if you didn't know.
So it is wait time again. Sorry it took a while for this post (that means you Mel). I've been busy at school trying to get ready to be off, busy at home making it ready for Kaya, and busy shopping. I'll post as soon as we get more info or new pictures (which should be any day), so check back often.
Signing off from the couch!
